Cathy supervises daily operations in the teaching and learning spaces of UBC’s Health Professional Programs, including Speech-Language Pathology, at the distributed site in Victoria.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Bailey provides support to the SLP Faculty, staff and students at the Victoria site. This includes supporting the sites Administrative office and Health Professional Programs Manager, and managing the SLP learning materials and teaching/clinical spaces. She collaborates with and supports the Vancouver site Faculty and staff.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Andrew manages and maintains the departmental computer and network systems. This includes developing and maintaining web-based services, providing multi-platform end-user support, maintaining network integrity and security, and assisting in developing computer policies and procedures in the School.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Marcelo provides support to the Manager of Administration, Program Director, and Executive Assistant to the Director. This includes assisting with program scheduling, instructor appointments, and financial processes. He also works closely with the Graduate Student Programs Manager to facilitate the School's admissions activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

Marcia organizes and manages Indigenous Community Learning Experience placements for our MSc and PhD students. She also designs and coordinates curriculum relating to clinical Indigenous education in the School and supports Indigenous students enrolled in our program.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Clint works closely with the Director of the School on matters of strategic planning and direction for all School operations, including budgets (academic and research) and administrative operations. Other responsibilities include human resource and financial management across the academic, clinical and research sectors and overseeing IT, research grants, facilities, and student services.

Jamie has been with the University of British Columbia since 2011, and moved into her current role with the School in 2016. She supports both the Clinical Teaching and Coordination Team and the Manager of Administration, which includes coordinating student clinical placements and providing financial and administrative support to the School.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Valerie, who has been at UBC since 2006 and started with SASS in 2019, provides high-level professional support to the School’s Director, Program Director, and Manager of Administration. This includes course scheduling, planning and coordinating meetings, preparing and editing policies and reports, survey creation and data analysis, website and social media content creation and management, and much more!

Roles and Responsibilities 

Aston is responsible for identifying funding sources and proposal preparation for faculty, research fellows, and students. He also assists with coordinating and writing scientific grants, papers, and reports, along with a wide variety of research related documents, within the School to ensure they meet with UBC requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Winnie works closely with the Admissions Committee and Graduate Advisor in managing graduate student affairs and admissions. This includes advising enrolled graduate students and applicant students, reviewing student admission applications and academic progress, and coordinating awards and scholarships, student orientation, and graduation.
