Partners

The School of Audiology and Speech Sciences is firmly committed to sharing knowledge and expertise with professional and community groups, service agencies, government and the public to improve the lives of persons with communication disorders (see Resources for Practitioners and Resources for the Public).

The Provincial Health Services Authority’s B.C. Early Hearing Program

Several of our Audiology faculty members are actively involved in the Provincial Health Services Authority’s B.C. Early Hearing Program (BCEHP), which provides hearing screening, follow-up, and intervention to all newborns in the province. Faculty member’s BCEHP involvement includes serving on BCEHP Advisory Committees, and providing consultation and expertise in the areas of screening, diagnostics, and hearing devices.

The Advanced Language and Literacy Program of B.C.

SASS has established a partnership with the Advanced Language and Literacy Program of B.C. (ALL), which provides support to young adults with histories of developmental delay and with speech, language, and literacy problems. The School’s relationship with ALL not only provides our students with learning and research opportunities, but also provides opportunities for ALL students to become part of the university community, developing skills that will help them to make friends, find jobs and be independent.

Donating Partners

SASS would not have grown into the institution it is today without the generosity of its many donors. The support that alumni, organizations, and friends have provided to students, faculty, projects, and facilities over the years is a foundation of the School’s success.
