The School’s annual Colloquium Series continues Wednesday 14 November with a talk from our very own Dr. Valter Ciocca, Professor and former Director at the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences. The title of the talk is: “Listening in noisy environments with cochlear implants: A Bayesian analysis of masking and auditory continuity data.”

Haida cedar weaving class for Audiology and SLP students

SASS students invited Todd Giihlgiigaa DeVries, a Haida Weaver of cedar bark, to teach a cedar weaving class on campus last week. They made these beautiful cedar bracelets to present as part of a celebration on marking the completion of AUDI 540, a class focusing on approaches to Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology for people of First Nations, Métis or Inuit heritage.

The Pediatric Audiology Lab at the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences is conducting a study which seeks to improve the ability to accurately assess hearing loss in newborns and infants. If your child is 18 months old or younger, he or she may be eligible to participate in this study!
