In light of Aphasia Awareness Month, ‘Aphasia on Stage’ would like to invite you to attend a special showcase on June 20, 2pm. They are preparing to pay tribute to Queen and aim to raise awareness about aphasia and its impact on their lives.

The Sea to Sky Aphasia Camp is based on a community-university partnership that brings together people with aphasia, their family members, and students from a wide variety of health professions. This year’s 10 year anniversary weekend will take place in September in Mission, BC.
National Clinical Certification Exam Award: Congratulations Martine!
The School of Audiology and Speech Sciences would like to congratulate our grad, Martine Schlagintweit, for receiving the SAC National Clinical Certification Exam Award! Martine was awarded the prize for attaining the highest score on the 2018 Audiology clinical certification exam.

Come attend the School’s next 50th anniversary colloquium at 4pm on Tuesday 14 May, with a talk by Dr. Jeff Crukley, Manager and Senior Research Scientist in Audiology Research and Hearing Science at Starkey Hearing Technologies. The title of the talk is: “Connected Audiology: Trends Informing Modern Audiology Care”.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Anne-Michelle Tessier, Assistant Professor in UBC’s Department of Linguistics, will be giving a talk at the School on Wednesday 10 April. The title is: Phonological processing in children with and without cochlear implants.
