Announcement from the School Director:

I am delighted to announce that Dr. Katharine (Kate) Davies will be joining the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences’ faculty in the role of Assistant Professor of Teaching at our new Victoria SLP site on July 1, 2024!

Dr. Katharine (Kate) Davies completed a B.A. in International Relations and M.Sc. in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of British Columbia, and an M.A. in Linguistics at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Along with recently completing her Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology at the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences, she has been a registered speech-language pathologist for over five years. She has clinical experience in rehabilitation, acute care, mental health, long-term care, and private practice settings. Kate has previously taught at the School (AUDI 530C and AUDI 572/586/516C), and has led and developed various clinical educational initiatives for SASS SLP students. In her research conducted at the UBC Innovation in Dementia and Aging Lab (IDEA) Lab and the SASS Living with Aphasia Lab, Kate focuses on dementia-related communication disorders and primary progressive aphasia.

Please join me in congratulating Kate on her new role at the School!
