PHC Research Challenge Funding for Speech-Language Pathology in Residential Care

We are delighted that Dr. Stacey Skoretz, the School’s Swallowing Innovations Lab Director and Assistant Professor, is mentoring one of the winning teams from the 2018 PHC (Providence Health Care) Research Challenge.

The PHC Practice-Based Research Challenge is an annual competition open to point-of-care PHC staff. The program provides training, funding and mentorship for teams of clinicians to conduct small-scale research projects in their own clinical settings.

Visit PHC’s website to hear from Dr. Skoretz and fellow team member Tara Chen, a Speech-Language Pathologist at PHC Residential Care, about their work and what they hope to achieve with the funds.

“We hope to gain a better understanding of the patients’ swallowing and communication needs in Residential Care.  This will help to ensure that they receive the support and care they require to maximize their quality of life.”
