The Nature of Things: SASS Research in the Spotlight

CBC-TV recently replayed an episode of ‘The Nature of Things’ in which our very own Dr. Tony Herdman and his PhD student Osamu Takai can be found demonstrating brain recordings to sound. The episode, entitled “Sonic Magic: The Wonder and Science of Sound” was originally aired in July 2016.

The Nature of Things is an influential series aiming to inform, inspire and celebrate the accomplishments of science and its contribution to our understanding of the world. This episode focuses on the historic power, promise, and potential of sound – including how sound can cure the sick, make the blind see and change the taste of food.
